Internship Program Overview

ServiceNow offers a 12-week summer internship program for students looking to make a real impact early in their careers. The program provides interns with:

Software Engineering Internship Opportunities

The program offers various software engineering internship opportunities within the UTG (Unified Technology Group):

1. Application Engineering (Full Stack)

• Develop across the entire web technology stack (JavaScript, Angular.js, React, HTML, CSS, and SQL).
• Build report interfaces and data feeds.
• Work in a Scrum-based Agile development process.
• Design and implement intuitive and user-friendly software.
• Extend and customize the functionality of ServiceNow to meet specific business needs.

2. Machine Learning

• Design and enhance core deep learning algorithms for natural language processing in ServiceNow NLU capabilities.
• Participate in data collection and benchmark creation.
• Develop innovative patentable ideas to stay ahead of the competition.
• Advance the natural language capabilities of the ServiceNow platform.

3. Platform Engineering (Full Stack and Back End)

• Contribute to the Cloud Platform Development group as a key member.
• Receive mentorship to develop essential skills.
• Collaborate with a Scrum team to solve real business problems.
• Develop, debug, and test using JavaScript and server-side Java.
• Implement web interfaces using JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, and CSS).

4. Systems Engineering

• Join a team of developers building highly scalable Cloud Infrastructure Automation.
• Tackle complex technical challenges in a collaborative and high-energy environment.
• Develop in Python, JavaScript, or Go to build services and automation tools.
• Leverage experience with Linux, networking, and/or container technologies (preferred).

5. UI/UX Engineering (Front End)

• Build highly interactive web-based application UIs that can scale.
• Create tools, libraries, and frameworks for other developers.
• Take full lifecycle responsibility for software development (requirements to testing).

Qualifications

Enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Graduating December 2025 or later.
Ability to obtain and maintain work authorization.
Commitment to a 12-week internship in Summer 2025 (May-August or June-September).
Experience with programming languages such as Java, C++, JavaScript, Python, or HTML/CSS.
Strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
Demonstrated software engineering experience (internship, academic projects, coding competitions, or publications – preferred).

Compensation and Benefits

For positions in the Bay Area, ServiceNow offers a base pay of $53.13 – $55.58, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Compensation varies based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and work location.
