Software Engineer in Test Intern 2

About the Role

American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking a Software Engineer in Test Intern 2 to join our Consumer Technology – QA (CRQ) department. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in maintaining and developing software test automation tools, leveraging the latest Microsoft technologies.

Hourly Salary Range

American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws. Compensation for this position depends upon the candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity.

Hourly Wage Range: $20.75 to $25.00

Remote Worker Considerations

This is a remote/work-from-home (WFH) position. Selected candidates will be trained remotely and must be able to work from a designated home work area using company-provided technology equipment.

Remote Work Requirements:

  • Stable connection to an Internet Service Provider.
  • Ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network.
  • Minimum internet download speed of 50 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps.
  • Recommended internet speeds: 100 Mbps download / 20 Mbps upload for higher quality video meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to enterprise-level testing of web applications.
  • Writing test cases and test procedures.
  • Running and maintaining test automation tools.
  • Developing test automation scripts.
  • The depth and breadth of projects will be tailored to the intern’s experience and knowledge level.

Qualifications

  • Coursework in computer science or another technical field is required.
  • High school diploma is required.
  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an IT, computer, or technical related field.
  • Technical experience from previous jobs is preferred.
  • Academic or commercial exposure to software quality assurance.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming in an academic, hobbyist, or commercial environment.
  • Experience working with Web Services and APIs.
  • Must be responsible, team-oriented, and a self-starter.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Physical Demands & Environmental Conditions

Mobility: Primarily sedentary, able to sit for long periods of time.

  • Ability to speak, see, and hear other personnel and/or objects.
  • Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to travel within the facility (if applicable, though primarily WFH).
  • Capable of using a telephone and computer keyboard.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
