About The Role
As a Software Development Intern, you will assist with building and improving software applications. You will work closely with engineers and gain valuable insight into how enterprise software is designed, tested, and delivered.
Matson Technology supports critical business systems used across various Matson operations. This internship provides a structured, hands-on learning experience with dedicated mentorship and real-world work aligned directly to a student’s academic program.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with the design, development, testing, and delivery of new software features.
- Write code and actively participate in code reviews with guidance from senior engineers.
- Help troubleshoot and resolve application defects, contributing to system stability.
- Participate in team meetings and design discussions, offering your perspective.
- Support proof-of-concept work and meticulously document your findings.
You Have These Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program related to software engineering, computer science, or information technology.
- Completed at least one academic term prior to the internship start.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
Extra Credit If You Have
- Experience with basic testing, debugging, or version control.
- A strong interest in learning enterprise software practices.
- Experience with the use of AI coding assistants in coding and software development.

Supervisor / Mentorship
Interns will be assigned a dedicated manager and a day-to-day mentor to provide comprehensive guidance and feedback throughout the internship.
Compensation
