Software Developer | Amentum

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Amentum, located in Washington, DC. Amentum builds systems to accelerate operations through data and new analytical insights. This role is crucial for developing and maintaining software that provides enhanced reporting and global searching capabilities, supporting national intelligence priorities while rigorously protecting confidential data and sources. You will be part of a team dedicated to leveraging agile methodologies to achieve these goals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop and test new software or enhancements to existing applications, ensuring they meet business, performance, quality, interface, and security requirements.
• Collaborate with technical staff to understand and resolve complex software problems, contributing to timely solutions.
• Address customer feedback and implement suggestions for software improvements and enhancements.
• Design, test, and implement security lockdown for desktop applications, integrating them with standard software packages and automated patching and deployment technologies.
• Provide essential documentation and training, including automating application and configuration deployments and updates.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience developing, testing, and deploying back-end software using languages such as Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, Typescript, and .NET, including Java with the latest JDK and backend frameworks like Java Spring and Nodejs.
• Skills: Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; proficiency in software development lifecycle processes, including Agile development; understanding of software design patterns and antipatterns; and familiarity with development tools such as git, integrated development environments, and code quality tools.
• Bonus: AWS Associate Level or above Certification(s); experience with development tools and technologies like GitLab, JFROG Artifactory and Xray, Splunk, Hashicorp Vault, Boundary, Consul, Terraform, Nexus, JIRA, Crucible, Jenkins, Ansible, and Ansible Tower; and familiarity with cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure Cloud or operating systems such as Microsoft Windows Server and Linux.
