Shipping & Receiving / Data Management Internship | Faurecia
The Tone:
This is an internship at Faurecia, located in Auburn Hills, MI. Operating as Forvia, the company is a sustainable mobility technology leader, pioneering mobility experiences and ranking as the seventh-largest global automotive supplier. This role is essential for ensuring the accurate tracking and movement of critical automotive components, from prototype parts to steels and plastics. By meticulously managing shipping and receiving logistics and digitizing important documentation, this position directly supports Forvia’s operational excellence and contributes to efficient information management.

• Team: Reports to supervisor
• Mission: To track all incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain shipping and receiving organization, and archive documentation to support the precise flow of prototype parts and automotive components.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office related programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), record information software
What You’ll Actually Do
• Logistics Coordination: Responsible for following through and tracking all incoming and outgoing shipments, specifically including prototype parts, steels, plastics, and other automotive components, ensuring their accurate movement to and from Auburn Hills HQ Shipping & Receiving.
• Area Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized Shipping/Receiving area and its associated storage spaces, with the ability to request assistance from shop supervisors if needed to uphold high organizational standards.
• Record Keeping: Maintains comprehensive Shipping/Receiving documentation, ensuring all records are easily accessible for reference and operational needs.
• Supply Management: Manages the inventory of essential shipping cartons, packaging materials, and tape, and is responsible for placing orders with the supervisor to supplement this inventory as required.
• Information Archiving: Scans and archives various paper documents into the designated record information software, contributing to digital information management and accessibility.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a High School Diploma and enrollment as a student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a field related to the internship’s responsibilities.
• Experience: Possesses good computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office related programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Skills: Demonstrates a professional attitude and appearance, excellent time management and multitasking abilities, and good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a strong collaborative spirit and the capacity to manage individual projects.
• Bonus: A valid Chauffeur Driver’s license is preferred, and the company will provide a Forklift license. Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Forvia’s Code of Conduct is also expected.
