SharePoint Administrator | Hydrogen Group
The Tone:
This is a 12-month contract role with Hydrogen Group, located remotely within the USA, adhering to EST hours. Hydrogen Group is seeking an entry-level SharePoint Administrator to support the day-to-day management, maintenance, and user support of their client’s SharePoint environment. This position is crucial for ensuring SharePoint sites are reliable, organized, secure, and aligned with departmental needs, directly impacting collaboration and productivity. The role offers an opportunity for a candidate with foundational experience to grow their skills in SharePoint administration and Microsoft 365 governance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administer: Assist with the administration and maintenance of SharePoint Online sites, including lists, libraries, pages, and permissions, to ensure operational efficiency.
• Create: Develop, update, and manage SharePoint sites and document libraries according to business requirements and established standards.
• Support: Provide first-level troubleshooting for SharePoint-related issues, such as access problems, document syncing, and site navigation, while also managing user access requests and permission changes.
• Collaborate: Support Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, including Teams, OneDrive, and Outlook, that integrate with the SharePoint environment.
• Document: Assist with SharePoint governance activities by documenting common processes, user instructions, and administrative procedures, and tracking content ownership.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level position requiring a high school diploma or equivalent, with core domain knowledge in working with or supporting a SharePoint environment.
• Experience: Foundational experience using or helping manage SharePoint, Microsoft 365, document libraries, permissions, and collaboration sites is essential.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, good troubleshooting abilities, effective communication skills, and a customer service orientation are required for providing end-user support.
• Bonus: An Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field is preferred, alongside a willingness to learn SharePoint administration, Microsoft 365 governance, and collaboration best practices.
