• Mission: This person solves the problem of efficiently procuring critical technology infrastructure and software to power Workday’s products and internal operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Execution: Assist with the execution of Technology strategies, focusing on Software engagements and related projects.
• Procurement Management: Conduct spend and market analysis, perform Requests for Proposals (RFx), and negotiate contracts.
• Relationship Building: Foster strong business and supplier relationships to support the company’s internal customers and growth.
• Improvement Identification: Identify and drive strategic improvement opportunities such as introducing new technologies, cost optimization, and contract consolidation.
• Sourcing Support: Assist with auxiliary Sourcing requests across related technology categories like hardware, data center, and public cloud.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level with a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. Core domain knowledge in Technology/IT procurement (Software/SaaS, hardware, data center, or public cloud categories) is required. Must be a United States citizen (naturalized or native) due to federal government security requirements.
• Experience: 8+ years of direct experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Sourcing, including demonstrated experience in Technology/IT procurement; OR 8+ years of combined experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Business, and/or Finance, along with a bachelor’s degree.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced financial modeling and data analysis, advanced understanding of contracts and contract management, developing and executing negotiation strategies, and critical thinking to translate, analyze, and create solutions.
• Bonus: Strong knowledge of cloud economics, AI token economics, and consumption-based pricing structures. Demonstrated Sourcing experience leading RFx’s, conducting supplier management activities, and managing a Sourcing category with a focus on Software/SaaS.
