What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Lead the technical design and architecture of complex software features and systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Develop: Develop, test, and deploy high-quality code across the full software development lifecycle, utilizing a modern tech stack.
• Review: Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Optimize: Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, optimizing existing systems for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Mentor: Guide and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Core domain knowledge in platform or backend systems development.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a significant focus on platform or backend systems.
• Skills: Expert proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, Go, C#, or Node.js). Strong experience with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis). Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of cloud-native architectures. Demonstrated ability to design scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems. Solid understanding and experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Bonus: Familiarity with GraphQL or gRPC. Experience with various testing methodologies (unit, integration, end-to-end) and building robust, testable software.
