About the Role

We are actively seeking an exceptionally talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our core Platform Development team. This is a critical role for an individual who is passionate about building scalable, resilient, and high-performance backend systems and infrastructure. You will be instrumental in evolving our foundational platform, which underpins all of Nexus Global Innovations’ products and services. You will tackle complex technical challenges, contribute to architectural strategy, and drive the implementation of robust solutions that support massive scale and real-time processing. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical platform services and APIs using [e.g., Java/Kotlin, Go, Python] within a microservices architecture.
• Architect and implement highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and observable backend systems that handle large volumes of data and traffic.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, principal engineers, and cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and deliver innovative solutions.
• Drive technical discussions, perform in-depth code reviews, and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of best practices and continuous learning.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, system reliability issues, and complex production incidents, ensuring optimal system health and availability.
• Contribute to the strategic evolution of our platform’s architecture, advocating for new technologies and methodologies where appropriate.
• Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the proactive identification and resolution of operational issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical platform services and ensure operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in building and scaling complex backend systems and distributed applications.
• Expertise in at least one modern backend programming language such as Java/Kotlin, Go, Python, or C++.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems principles, microservices architecture, and common design patterns.
• Strong proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis).
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and associated services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience with message queues and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and operating system fundamentals.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of large-scale systems.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Prior experience working on high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio demonstrating technical leadership.
• Experience with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, or other high-performance RPC frameworks.
• Understanding of security best practices in cloud and application development.
