About the Role

We are searching for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our elite Cloud Infrastructure team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the core services and platforms that underpin all of Acme Innovations’ products. You will tackle complex distributed systems challenges, contribute to architectural vision, and drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies. Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Development: Architect, design, implement, and deploy highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and performant cloud-native services using modern programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Rust).
• Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm charts, ensuring consistent and reproducible environments.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
• Architectural Contribution: Actively participate in architectural discussions, evaluate new technologies, and propose solutions that align with our long-term vision.
• Performance & Optimization: Identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and operational issues across our distributed systems.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, SRE, security, and other engineering teams to define requirements, deliver features, and ensure seamless integrations.
• Operational Excellence: Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the health and performance of our services, and participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems.
• Code Quality & Review: Champion high standards for code quality, maintainability, and test coverage. Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on building and operating large-scale cloud infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Programming Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (Go, Python, Java, C++, or Rust).
• Cloud Platform Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with major public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, serverless functions, Istio).
• Distributed Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consensus algorithms, eventual consistency, concurrency, and fault tolerance.
• Networking & Security: Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, security best practices for cloud environments, and experience with identity and access management (IAM).
• Database Experience: Experience with various data storage technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Redis, Kafka).
• API Design: Proven ability to design and implement robust, scalable APIs (RESTful, gRPC).
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Argo CD).
• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, ELK stack).
• A strong understanding of operating systems (Linux) and virtualization technologies.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of database systems or network protocols.
