Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure | Innovate Solutions Inc.
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Innovate Solutions Inc., available remotely across North America or at our San Francisco, CA office. The company builds and maintains the foundational cloud infrastructure and services that support its applications. This position is essential for designing, developing, and maintaining these core systems. The successful candidate will work on complex challenges at scale, contribute to significant architectural decisions, and help define the future direction of the company’s cloud platform, focusing on building systems that are reliable and scalable.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Infrastructure Design: Lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud infrastructure components and services that are highly scalable, reliable, and performant.
• Collaboration: Partner with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to define requirements and deliver technical solutions that meet business needs.
• Architectural Input: Actively participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the strategic roadmap for the company’s cloud platform.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to established best practices.
• System Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and operational issues within production systems.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Candidates should have a strong background in backend systems development and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience is required, with extensive hands-on experience across major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. This includes familiarity with their compute, storage, networking, and database services. Candidates must also have experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. A solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design (REST, gRPC) is also essential.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in at least one modern programming language including Go, Python, Java, or C++. The role demands strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to articulate concepts clearly.
• Bonus: Experience with event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis), familiarity with various database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), or prior involvement with site reliability engineering (SRE) practices. Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal technical projects are also valued.
