What You’ll Actually Do
• Vision Leadership: Lead the design vision for Mercury’s Accounting Integrations experience, guiding it from early product strategy through detailed, polished execution.
• Experience Redesign: Reimagine how customers prepare and complete accounting work within Mercury, introducing thoughtful automation and innovative interaction models to shape a strategically important product area.
• Workflow Translation: Translate highly complex, multi-step accounting workflows into intuitive and straightforward product experiences that simplify financial operations for businesses.
• Strategic Partnership: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Research teams to collaboratively shape the future of accounting at Mercury through rapid exploration, experimentation, and thoughtful product strategy.
• Quality Elevation: Raise the quality bar for all accounting experiences across Mercury, consistently applying exceptional craft and providing strong design leadership.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A senior-level product designer who thinks comprehensively in systems and workflows, not merely individual screens, and demonstrates an obsessive drive to learn new domains until challenging expert assumptions.
• Experience: 6+ years of experience leading complex, end-to-end product design initiatives, with a proven track record of transforming highly intricate workflows into simple, intuitive product experiences.
• Skills:
• Bringing clarity to ambiguous problems and effectively helping teams align around a compelling, shared product direction.
• Possessing strong product judgment, demonstrating clear and concise communication, and taking a high degree of ownership over design outcomes.
• Balancing automation with essential transparency, user trust, and granular control in all design solutions for financial operations.
• Proficiency in leveraging AI to accelerate exploration and deepen design thinking without ever compromising the quality or craft of the final product.
