Capital Markets Director | ENGIE North America Inc.
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at ENGIE North America Inc., offering a hybrid work arrangement. ENGIE North America is actively leading the Zero-Carbon Transition, developing energy solutions that are renewable, efficient, and accessible. This role is crucial within the Acquisitions, Investments and Financial Advisory (AIFA) team, directly involved in major transactions and strategic initiatives to optimize capital allocation across the Group and secure competitive funding for projects.

• Mission: Lead the valuation, risk analysis, structuring, and execution of M&A and project financing transactions, while managing a team of financial professionals, to optimize capital and secure competitive funding for new projects.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Origination & Execution: Originate, structure, and execute project finance transactions, including loan facilities, tax equity partnerships, and construction/term loans, for DG solar battery storage projects in the U.S.
• Financial Analysis & Advice: Perform valuation and financial analysis for investments and divestments, advising executive committees on the economics, viability, and risk/reward of proposals in compliance with AIFA methodologies.
• Transaction Leadership: Lead the financial structuring for new business development projects, recommending optimal financing strategies based on extensive market experience across banking, capital markets, and tax equity.
• Stakeholder Management: Actively build and manage interactions with external parties such as lenders, financial partners, advisors, and lawyers, as well as internal stakeholders, to successfully conclude transactions in challenging environments.
• Team Management: Manage a team of financial advisors and analysts, overseeing workload, resource allocation, training, development, objective setting, performance review, and recruitment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline, with a professional qualification (CFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) obtained or in progress.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience conducting energy industry M&A and project finance transactions at an investment bank, private equity fund, or strategic energy company. Proven track record in financing Community Solar, C&I Solar, and BESS projects in the U.S. market.
• Skills: Strong understanding of all aspects of project finance and M&A processes, including negotiating transaction documentation, proficient financial modeling, and the ability to think strategically and synthesize complex information. Excellent negotiation, leadership, and people management skills.
• Bonus: Established network of investors, lenders, and financial partners in the renewable energy sector.
