For this position, Robert Half is partnering with a well-established financial institution seeking a Staff or Senior Accountant to join its collaborative accounting team. This role is crucial for maintaining financial reporting accuracy, supporting broad accounting operations, and contributing to the organization’s stability and long-term growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Close: Prepare and execute month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger and perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial reporting accuracy.
• Financial Reporting Support: Assist with monthly financial reporting, prepare budget reports, and contribute to the annual budgeting process.
• Transaction Processing & Audit: Process investment transactions, rollovers, and maturities, while supporting external audits and regulatory reporting.
• Operational Backup & Projects: Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and daily accounting operations, and participate in process improvements and special projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; entry to mid-level career.
• Experience: 1-3+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting experience from a local or regional CPA firm.
• Skills: Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes, coupled with an analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
• Bonus: Prior experience in Banking, Credit Union, or Financial Services is preferred.
