Security Analyst Intern
We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team as a Security Analyst Intern. Key Responsibilities
- Shadow our Enterprise Technology team to gain invaluable insights into user and application provisioning processes, understanding the foundations of Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Collaborate with our Cloud & DevOps team to learn about the secure infrastructure and coding practices underpinning our customer-facing applications, focusing on cloud security and secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC).
- Work alongside our compliance team to understand internal audit functions, regulatory requirements, and processes, contributing to our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework.
- Assist in the comprehensive review of all existing security policies to proactively identify potential gaps and propose innovative recommendations for enhancement and alignment with industry standards.
- Actively participate in internal security audits and conduct rigorous access reviews to ensure adherence to least privilege principles and compliance.
- Conduct thorough vendor security reviews to assess and mitigate third-party risks, safeguarding our supply chain.
- Review customer contracts to meticulously identify any deviations from our standard security commitments, ensuring clarity and risk mitigation.
- Support experienced analysts in performing active threat hunting, learning proactive techniques to detect and neutralize advanced persistent threats (APTs).
- Assist in conducting targeted phishing tests to identify human vulnerabilities and enhance the organization’s overall security awareness posture.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
- A strong, demonstrable interest and passion for learning various facets of cybersecurity, including threat detection, policy development, auditing, and risk management.
- Basic understanding of security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR) and common security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) is considered a significant advantage.
- Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within cross-functional teams, as well as independently manage assigned projects with initiative.
