Sales Representative, Small Business Services | ADP
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person Sales Representative role at ADP, where you will operate within a defined geographic territory. ADP is a comprehensive global provider of cloud-based human capital management (HCM) solutions, offering services in HR, payroll, talent, time, tax, and benefits administration. This role is pivotal for expanding ADP’s market presence by identifying and signing new small business clients (1-49 employees) for these essential services, and by cultivating existing client relationships to offer additional solutions. What You’ll Actually Do
• Identify new client opportunities: You will proactively target clients and prospects with 1-49 employees within your assigned geographic territory to identify and sign new business for payroll, tax, human resources, and benefits solutions.
• Drive new business acquisition: Daily, you will cultivate relationships, set appointments, gather leads from established business partners, and assess client needs to present the most suitable ADP solutions, closing business primarily in the field.
• Expand existing client accounts: You will strategically sell additional cloud-based human resources solutions to existing clients, deepening relationships across the ADP family of services.
• Achieve sales objectives: Working both independently and collaboratively with various teams, you will focus on closing sales, winning new business, and consistently reaching your sales goals.
• Serve as a trusted advisor: You will act as an ADP ambassador to clients and internal partners, demonstrating grace under pressure and upholding the highest ethical standards while collaborating daily.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role values skills over specific academic credentials; a college degree is beneficial but not strictly required for success.
• Experience: Candidates should possess one to two years of prior work experience or internships in customer-facing roles such as Retail, Marketing, Business Development, Food Service, or Insurance Sales. Military experience is also highly valued, recognizing the discipline, commitment, and problem-solving abilities veterans bring.
• Skills: Demonstrated positive self-starter qualities, including an upbeat and persistent style, the ability to cold call without fear of rejection, effective time management, and the capacity to present ideas clearly and professionally across various communication channels (written, in-person, phone). Agile problem-solving and a continuous learning mindset are also essential.
• Bonus: Prior experience in a quota-carrying sales role, along with a proven ability to successfully build professional networks and effectively utilize social media for sales generation.
