2027 Sales & Operations Development Program | Platt Electric Supply

The Tone:
This is an early career development program at Platt Electric Supply, situated in Parkrose, OR, and commencing in June 2027. Platt Electric Supply operates as a key banner under Rexel USA, a leading distributor of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication, and related supplies across a vast U.S. network of over 460 warehouse storefronts. This 12-month Accelerated Commercial Experience (ACE) program offers a unique opportunity for early career professionals to gain extensive, hands-on exposure across the dynamic electrical distribution industry. Participants will develop critical commercial, operational, and leadership skills through structured training, mentorship, and meaningful assignments, preparing them for diverse career trajectories within the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Warehouse & Logistics Management: Learn and apply full-cycle supply chain processes by managing the storing and movement of materials, including order fulfillment, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping operations.
• Sales Development: Gain hands-on experience in various sales environments, cultivating customer service excellence, deepening product knowledge, and honing selling techniques across counter, inside, and outside sales functions.
• Operational Insight: Understand the fundamental business drivers influencing safety protocols, profitability metrics, facility maintenance, inventory control, working capital optimization, and customer service delivery, utilizing data to support informed decisions.
• Project Coordination: Manage complex customer, sales, and vendor relationships for projects, accurately placing orders, meticulously tracking shipments, coordinating billing processes, and maintaining clear, timely communication from inception to completion.
• Elective Specialization: Tailor a portion of the program experience through elective rotations, potentially revisiting a previous area for deeper engagement, specializing in product lines like Automation or Lighting, or developing a customized rotation with local leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level role designed for individuals early in their career. A four-year Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, particularly in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain, Business, or other directly related fields.
• Experience: External candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a service, business, or sales-oriented role, with a minimum 3.0 GPA required upon graduation for those with a bachelor’s degree. Internal candidates require less than 12 months of experience with Rexel and must be in good performance standing.
• Skills: Demonstrated professionalism, effective leadership capabilities, strong communication and interpersonal skills, a curious and collaborative self-starter mindset, and an aptitude for problem-solving.
• Bonus: Relevant internship or co-op experience is preferred. Equivalent military or industry-related experience will be considered. Openness to relocation will significantly broaden future career opportunities within the business.
