About The Safety Intern Position at Superior

Superior, a national leader in electrical design and construction, is seeking highly motivated and energetic students for a Safety Intern position during the Fall 2026 term (September – December). This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in construction safety within a dynamic, century-old company.

The position is based in Columbus, Ohio, with a competitive pay rate of $25 per hour.

Role Overview

Under the direct guidance of Superior’s experienced Safety team, the Safety Intern will gain broad exposure to various aspects of safety across large construction jobsites and enterprise accounts. The role primarily involves supporting jobsite safety initiatives to ensure all team members adhere to proper safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Audits: Participate in daily walk-through safety audits on large construction sites, helping to ensure compliance with government rules and regulations.
  • Reporting: Assist in the completion of daily reports or audits, detailing activities, critical conversations, and identified issues.
  • Documentation: Help create, maintain, and update essential safety documentation and forms.
  • Training Support: Assist with safety training programs and the onboarding of new Safety Professionals as needed.
  • Culture Building: Collaborate with the safety team on various training programs and initiatives designed to enhance the onsite safety culture.
  • Toolbox Talks: Create and distribute site-specific Toolbox Talks to field teams.
  • PPE Management: Help organize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in multiple locations across the jobsite.
  • Safety Reports: Assist with the creation of comprehensive safety reports for multiple ongoing projects.

Education Requirements

  • Required: Candidates must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Construction Safety or a related field.
