Utilities Right of Way Agent | ORC

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at ORC, located in Ohio, with the flexibility to work from a home office within a 50-mile radius of Columbus, OH. ORC is a company shaping infrastructure, utilities, and communities by specializing in Right of Way services where innovation meets essential development. This role is crucial for acquiring necessary rights for critical infrastructure projects, directly contributing to community growth and the expansion of vital utility networks across the state.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Acquisition: Acquire right-of-way rights for distribution and electrical transmission line projects in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.
• Support: Provide support to the Project Manager and other project team members to ensure the smooth progression of initiatives.
• Documentation: Prepare accurate real estate documents and conduct thorough property research to determine ownership and boundary information.
• Communication: Communicate clearly and professionally with property owners and their representatives regarding all aspects of right of way acquisition.
• Administration: Perform general administrative tasks essential for keeping projects moving forward efficiently.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role covers Utilities Agent levels 1 through 3, requiring a minimum of 1 year of Right of Way acquisition experience for Level 1, 3 years for Level 2, and 5 years for Level 3.
• Experience: Active Ohio Notary or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire, proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), an iOS or Android smartphone for ORC system access, and a valid driver’s license.
• Skills: Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented approach to efficiently manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines; clear and professional communication abilities across written, phone, and face-to-face interactions; and the capacity to quickly learn new systems and software.
• Bonus: A strong service mindset in interactions with landowners and clients, and an eagerness to learn and grow within the right of way profession.
