Job Title: RFIC Validation & Characterization Intern/Junior Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to support the validation and characterization of RFICs designed in pSemi’s proprietary UltraCMOS technology. These critical components are developed for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications.
The product lines you will be working with include high performance RF switches, Amplifiers, Mixers, LNAs, VCOs, PLLs, and other advanced RF circuits. This role is ideally suited for an Electrical Engineering major in their Senior year at College or currently enrolled in a Master’s Program.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position holds key responsibilities in the product development lifecycle, including:
- Product Characterization: Defining, measuring, analyzing, and meticulously documenting product performance data to ensure it meets design specifications and industry standards.
- Possible Production ATE Support: Collaborating with test engineers to define, develop, and smoothly ramp up production Automated Test Equipment (ATE) solutions.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience And Skills)
- Hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment to validate the performance of CMOS RF ICs. This includes proficiency in measurements such as Noise Figure (NF), phase noise, IP3, IP2, matching using Smith charts, and time domain measurements.
- Solid understanding of basic Digital, Analog, and RF circuit theory.
- Knowledge of Generic Building Blocks of Wireless Systems and RF IC Transceivers will be a significant advantage.
- Proficiency with general lab equipment, including: DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Signal Generators, Functional Generators, and Spectrum Analyzers.
- Good software or scripting skills, particularly in Python and/or MATLAB programming.

- Demonstrated strength in documentation clarity and completeness.
- A team player with a strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule.
- Willingness to go beyond what’s required and take initiative.
Education Requirements
- Currently enrolled student in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent, preferably with 3+ years completed; or a MSEE candidate.
Compensation & Employment Details
- Hourly Wage: USD 25.63 – 48.60 per hour.
- Important Note: This is a temporary position. The selected candidate will be employed and receive all wages directly from a third-party staffing agency selected by pSemi.

This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely utilizing standard office equipment.
