Retail Market Operations Trainee | Circle K
The Tone:
This is a full-time, year-long development and training program at Circle K, designed for recent college graduates, with an initial kick-off event in Charlotte, NC, and subsequent work within various Business Unit regions across North America. Circle K is a leading global convenience and fuel retail business, part of Alimentation Couche-Tard, operating over 14,200 stores worldwide. This program is critical for developing future Market Managers, offering early career talent valuable work experience, mentorship, and professional training to launch an accelerated career path within the company.
The TL;DR
• Role: Trainee (leading to Market Manager)
• Type: Full-time
• Location: In-person, various Business Unit regions across North America (initial event in Charlotte, NC)
• Team: Reports to Business Unit leadership (as a Market Manager)
• Mission: To develop early career talent into effective Market Managers who oversee multi-store operations, optimize market revenue growth, and ensure adherence to company and industry regulations.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Leadership Kick-off: Travel to Charlotte, NC to participate in a leadership experience with other college graduates.
• Support Function Acclimation: Get acquainted with support functions in a Business Unit, including Marketing, HR, HSE, Fuel, Facilities, and Finance.
• Operational Insight: Gain a better understanding of the people and processes that support the Market Manager role within a convenience powerhouse.
• Manager Shadowing: Shadow a high-performing Market Manager, progressively taking on more responsibility as skills develop.
• Market Management: Oversee the operations of multiple stores within a designated territory, ensuring revenue growth, operational efficiency, and adherence to company standards.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent Fall 2023 college graduate or upcoming Summer 2024 college graduate with a degree in Business or a related field.
• Experience: Quantitative aptitude or experience managing budgets, with a valid driver’s license.
• Skills: Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability, excellent time management and organizational skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication, and an analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
• Bonus: Retail experience is highly desirable.
