Job Description:
This Research Internship focuses on intelligent model routing for Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). You will be part of a team of AI Engineers, Applied Scientists, and Software Engineers working on cutting-edge applied AI problems.
Your project involves:
• Researching, designing, building, and evaluating a solution for intelligent model routing.
• Creating an intelligent model router to assess incoming API requests and select the optimal model (Large Language Model (LLM) or Small Language Model (SLM)) for tasks like summarization, composition, and data analysis.
• Designing the routing algorithm, integrating it with existing APIs, and testing performance to achieve a balance between cost and quality.
• Collaborating closely with researchers, applied scientists, engineers, and product teams.
The internship emphasizes contributing original ideas and collaborating to produce impactful research. The 12-week program includes mentorship, collaboration with other interns and researchers, presentation of findings, and participation in the research community. The internship is available year-round, with most starting in the summer.
