Job Title: Research Data Coordinator II (RDC II)

Summary

The Research Data Coordinator II (RDC II) is a fully proficient and autonomous role responsible for reviewing and synthesizing information from various medical records to extract data for industry, cooperative, and investigator-initiated clinical trials. This position requires a strong understanding of research protocols and the ability to ensure data integrity and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Extraction and Synthesis: Autonomously review and synthesize information from diverse medical records, including clinic notes, pathology reports, radiology reports, and patient questionnaires, to extract trial data as specified by assigned research protocols.
  • Protocol Adherence: Manage protocol-specific data requirements for multiple research projects, ensuring all data capture aligns with regulatory standards and GCP.
  • Complex Task Management: Routinely handle complex tasks related to data management, including determining methods and procedures for data requirements, query resolution, and data capture.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with study coordinators and monitors to ensure clear understanding and adherence to protocol requirements.
  • Workload Management: Manage a higher patient volume and/or trials of greater complexity compared to lower-level Research Data Coordinators.
  • Mentorship: Assist and support less experienced team members, contributing to their development and understanding of RDC core responsibilities.
  • Presentations: Present relevant information in department meetings as appropriate.

Role Complexity and Growth

This role is considered fully proficient, performing all core RDC support functions along with additional responsibilities that include managing higher patient volumes and/or trials of increased complexity. The workload is more complex and comprehensive than that of lower-level research data coordinators. Minimum Experience Required

  • High School Diploma/GED with three (3) years of data management experience required.
  • OR
  • An AA/AS degree plus one (1) year of clinical or research data management experience is acceptable in lieu of the above experience.
