Equity Research Analyst/Associate- Transportation & Shipping | Bank of America
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Bank of America, located in New York, NY. Bank of America is a large global financial institution providing a full range of banking, investing, asset management, and other financial and risk management products and services. This role is crucial for synthesizing complex data, conducting in-depth analysis, and providing valuable industry insights and valuation thoughts to institutional investors within the transportation and shipping sectors. Your contributions will directly support investor decision-making across a broad range of covered companies.

• Mission: Synthesize data and provide valuation and industry background thoughts to institutional investors.
• Tech Stack: Excel, market research databases, proprietary surveys.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Perform complex financial modeling and valuation work, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement analysis.
• Reporting: Write regular industry and company reports, and prepare company launch initiations for institutional investor clients.
• Data Analysis: Analyze data within market research databases and seek out new sources of information to enhance research capabilities.
• Industry & Company Research: Conduct industry research, interview industry experts, follow market activity, and develop key industry themes with Senior Analysts.
• Client Engagement: Participate and contribute to client meetings and events, build relationships with contacts at covered companies, and respond to institutional investor inquiries.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience in accounting, corporate finance, research, banking, or consulting.
• Experience: Minimum 1-5 years’ experience in accounting, corporate finance, research, banking, or consulting.
• Skills: Strong modeling and financial analysis skills in Excel, ability to comprehend and create charts and data visualizations, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: MBA and/or progress towards a CFA or other relevant professional certifications, knowledge of statistics and/or AI/data analytics/data science techniques, or a general interest in the stock market and/or financial markets.
