This is a 10-week summer internship program at Nassau Financial Group, located in Albany, NY. What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Initiative Support: Provide direct support to finance initiatives, driving objectives through to successful completion.
• Financial Data Management: Accurately record journal entries, analyze financial data, and execute queries across the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Expense Management, and other administrative systems.
• Account Reconciliation and Verification: Prepare detailed account reconciliations and certify the accuracy and completeness of critical financial information.
• Process Enhancement Collaboration: Engage with various finance functions, including expense management, accounts payable, financial reporting, operations accounting, reinsurance, and internal audit, to understand and recommend process improvements and efficiencies.
• Financial Reporting Assistance: Aid in the preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP and STAT financial reporting and analysis.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. This is an Entry-Level position designed for college students.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in using various office applications and financial software, including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and PeopleSoft.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, strong attention to detail coupled with solid decision-making skills, the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and the capacity to identify and escalate potential accounting, reporting, or reconciliation issues.
• Bonus: Knowledge of insurance and financial markets.
