Equity Research Analyst/Associate – Payments, Processors & IT Services | Bank of America

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Bank of America, located in the United States. Bank of America is a leading financial institution that provides a full range of banking, investing, asset management, and other financial and risk management products and services. Within this organization, the Equity Research Analyst/Associate will be an integral part of the Payments, Processors & IT Services research team. This team is crucial for delivering comprehensive market insights and investment recommendations, covering a portfolio of approximately 30 stocks, including major players and high-growth disruptive companies in the sector. Your contribution will directly support investment decisions by providing deep analytical work, timely reports, and fostering key industry relationships for the firm.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Model & Value: Perform complex financial modeling and valuation work for covered companies.
• Report & Initiate: Write comprehensive industry and company reports, including launching new company coverage from scratch.
• Support Transactions: Participate in IPO-related vettings and contribute to analyst days.
• Develop Tools: Create and maintain databases essential for the team’s research product.
• Engage Stakeholders: Build and maintain relationships with company contacts and interact regularly with clients.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of professional experience, placing it in an early career stage. Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of Finance and Accounting principles, complemented by basic knowledge of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics.
• Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience is required. Preferred experience includes backgrounds in sell-side or buy-side research or investment banking, though this is not a mandatory prerequisite.
• Skills: Expertise in MS Word and MS Excel, demonstrating strong financial modeling capabilities, is essential. Candidates must exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, alongside a strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a demanding environment.
• Bonus: Credit skills are considered a plus for this position. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a strong intellectual curiosity, thrive in a fast-paced and intense work setting, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
