INTERNSHIP – Client Position Regulatory Reporting Analyst – Chicago | Societe Generale

The Tone:
This is an internship at Societe Generale, located in Chicago, IL. Societe Generale is a 44,322-person organization dedicated to providing resources for administrative and financial processing, performing level one auditing, and managing operational risks for derivative markets worldwide. This role is crucial in supporting the Regulatory Reporting, Delivery, and Change Management departments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in vital financial operations. The intern will contribute directly to maintaining secure transaction processing and managing operational integrity.

• Mission: To provide support and contribute to the accuracy, compliance, and optimization of regulatory reporting, delivery processes, and change management initiatives.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Verify Regulatory Data: Ensure accuracy of open interest, position, and large trader adjustments on exchanges such as CME and ICE US for regulatory reporting.
• Support Delivery Operations: Validate delivery positions and promptly notify managers of any discrepancies in positions that are expiring or in a notice period.
• Contribute to Change Management: Participate in local projects to optimize daily tasks, identify improvements, and formalize requirements for new solutions.
• Implement and Test Solutions: Aid in the design, testing, and implementation of organizational or technical solutions, including performing user acceptance testing.
• Maintain Operational Documentation: Assist with updating and writing procedures, documenting workflows, and creating or updating functional support documents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Studies in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or other quantitative subjects are preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years of applicable experience is required.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel; Comprehensive understanding of futures products and physical deliverable products; Ability to organize follow-up to ensure problems are resolved; Skill in identifying opportunities to increase efficiency.
• Bonus: Willingness to accept challenging assignments and provide extra support to the team; Ability to start work at 6:00 AM CST.
