INTERNSHIP – Client Position Regulatory Reporting Analyst – Chicago | Societe Generale

The Tone:
This is a six to twelve month internship program with the potential to be hired full time at Societe Generale, located in Chicago. Societe Generale is a global financial institution committed to strengthening bonds with colleagues, communities, and clients. This role acts as a vital support within the Regulatory Reporting, Delivery, and Change Management departments, contributing to the administrative and financial processing of derivative markets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing operational efficiency worldwide. The position is critical for maintaining secure transaction processing and managing operational risks.

• Team: LRD, which operates within EQD, responsible for regulatory reporting, delivery, and change management at a worldwide level.
• Mission: Support the Regulatory Reporting, Delivery, and Change Management departments by performing verification tasks, assisting with projects, and optimizing daily operations.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Regulatory Verification: Verify open interest, position management, and large trader adjustments on exchanges like CME and ICE US, while assisting with regulatory reporting audits.
• Operational Oversight: Manage and verify delivery positions, ensure any raised alerts are addressed, and immediately notify managers of discrepancies in expiring or notice-period positions.
• Process Optimization: Participate in local projects to identify and implement improvements, formalize requirements, and contribute to the design, testing, and deployment of solutions.
• Project Support: Work with clients, account executives, business managers, and operations teams to define business requirements for assigned projects and perform user acceptance testing.
• Documentation & Analysis: Assist with updating and writing procedures and workflow documents, analyze specific functional processes, and propose best practice solutions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Studies in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or other quantitative subjects is preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years of applicable experience.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
• Bonus: Comprehensive understanding of futures products and physical deliverable products.
