Job Description
This position is for a Registered Sonographer at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska (Work Location: Providence Alaska Medical Ctr-Anchorage).
Core Responsibilities:
• Performs all essential functions of a Registered Sonographer.
• Conducts and evaluates sonographic examinations and physiologic vascular testing.
• Gathers clinical history and performs physical assessments of patients to determine appropriate testing protocols.
• Provides technical interpretations of sonographic and physiologic data to assist physicians in making medical diagnoses.
Required Qualifications:
• Education/Training: Completion of an ultrasound program (minimum 1 year in length).
• Degree/Credentials: Associate’s Degree in a related healthcare field OR Credentials with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
• Certifications (Upon Hire):
• National Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
• National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association.
• Specialty Credentials: Requires credentials from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in a minimum of three specialties, including vascular technology. New graduates may be allowed to acquire some specialties after hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience: 2 years of recent full-time paid experience in abdomen, OB/GYN, and vascular technology.
• Specialized Experience: Recent experience in Neurosonography.
Position Details:
• Employment Type: Per Diem (0.01 FTE).
• Shift: Variable shift.
• Hours: Hours per week are as needed and are not guaranteed.
• Compensation:
• Pay Range: $47.39 – $73.56 per hour (base pay).
• Additional Compensation: May include shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
