Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Acute Care Internal Med

Summary of Role: As an RN in Acute Care Internal Medicine, the individual provides high-quality direct patient care in a dynamic, multidisciplinary setting. The role involves utilizing evidence-based practices, precepting new healthcare professionals, and prioritizing patient wellness while managing moderate to high patient acuity.

Location: UCHealth UCHlth Memorial Hospital Central, Colorado Springs, CO, USA

Department: MHC 3 East Internal Med Unit

Employment Type (FTE): Part Time, 0.6 FTE, equating to 48.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay Rate: $35.29 – $54.71 per hour, with actual pay dependent on the applicant’s relevant experience.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if the applicant has less than 3 years of experience.
Licensure: Current State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Experience: A minimum of 6 months of nursing (RN) experience.
Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. The card must be in-hand before the start date and valid through sixty days of hire.

• Provides top of scope practice in direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process comprehensively.
• Collaborates effectively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.
• Emphasizes and integrates wellness, a patient perspective, and evidence-based practice into care delivery.
• Serves as a preceptor, modeling proficiency for new healthcare professionals or those new to UCHealth.
• Demonstrates openness to new knowledge and adapts to a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment.
• Actively contributes to ensuring safety and quality at the point of care.

Acute Care Specifics:
• Direct patient care is provided within specialty Acute Care (Med-Surg) Units.
• The patient acuity in these units ranges from moderate to high.
• Care models are based on evidence-based standards, incorporating the AMSN’s (Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses) core curriculum and various specialty certification standards.
Clinical Educators provide support and guidance, offering individualized specialty education and training to validate competency throughout clinical orientation.
