HR Intern | Pony.ai

The Tone:
This is an internship at Pony.ai, a leading startup co-located in Silicon Valley and China, focused on autonomous mobility. The company is pioneering self-driving technology and services across the U.S. and China, aiming to bring safe, sustainable, and accessible mobility to the entire world. This HR Intern role is vital for supporting the talent acquisition team, learning the foundational aspects of recruiting, and contributing to the growth of Pony.ai’s engineering talent pipeline. You will gain hands-on experience in essential HR operations and play a part in a company with an ambitious vision to transform lives and industries through autonomous technology.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Co-located in Silicon Valley and China
• Pay: $18–$20 hourly
• Mission: To support the talent acquisition team by managing interview logistics, screening candidates, and sourcing engineering talent, while also assisting with general HR operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Interview Coordination: Coordinate and schedule all necessary phone screenings, onsite, and virtual interviews, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for candidates and internal teams.
• Candidate Screening: Methodically review inbound resumes and carefully evaluate candidates’ qualifications to determine their initial fit for various roles within the company.
• Engineering Talent Sourcing: Proactively source qualified engineering candidates using multiple recruiting channels and assist partners in building a robust talent pipeline to meet business needs.
• Job Requirement Analysis: Partner with recruiters to conduct thorough job description analyses, ensuring a deep understanding of the specific requirements for open positions.
• HR Operational Support: Provide essential assistance with various human resource operations activities, including administrative tasks and other ad-hoc projects as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or an equivalent major.
• Experience: Proven ability to act as a self-starter, demonstrating resourcefulness, intellectual curiosity, and initiative in prior academic or professional settings.
• Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, coupled with a demonstrated ability to embrace and adapt to change and learn quickly in demanding environments.
