Quality Documentation Intern | Once Upon a Farm

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Once Upon a Farm, a remote-first company dedicated to improving childhood nutrition across the United States. The company focuses on crafting organic, crave-worthy snacks and meals for children of all ages, made from whole fruits and veggies, either cold-pressed or freshly frozen, without added sugar or artificial ingredients. This role is crucial for ensuring the company’s documentation programs strictly comply with food safety policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. By supporting the Senior Manager of Supply Chain Quality Compliance, the intern directly contributes to the integrity and trustworthiness of Once Upon a Farm’s products, upholding the commitment to healthy, high-quality food for a healthier and happier planet.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Documentation Management: Gather and maintain required documentation to support compliance with claims, regulations, and quality systems.
• Records Maintenance: Maintain records and documentation related to certifications and compliance within the TraceGains platform.
• Supplier Onboarding: Assist with collecting documentation necessary for onboarding new suppliers.
• Audit Support: Gather documentation for various audits, including Kosher, Non-GMO, and Organic certifications.
• System Migration: Support the migration of Certificates of Analysis (COAs) to TraceGains, including sharing specifications with suppliers and setting up COAs.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with Materials and Inventory Control teams to resolve exceptions related to the ingredient hold and release program.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently graduating in 2026, or already graduated with a degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Quality Management, or a related field. For those without a Bachelor’s degree, equivalent years of professional experience in Quality or Compliance Management or related focus areas will also fulfill this qualification, demonstrating a moderate understanding of food safety and compliance principles.
• Experience: Prior internship experience working in quality assurance or regulatory compliance within the food industry is preferred, bringing an understanding of industry requirements and best practices. Candidates should demonstrate an enthusiasm for reading and researching and an endless desire to learn.
• Skills: Possess excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deliverables. Requires strong communication and people partnership skills for collaborating with internal and external teams. Must have solid working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications, Outlook, Slack, and other professional platforms for daily operations.
