The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, San Jose, CA or Urbalnde, IA
• Pay: $21–$28 hourly
• Team: Reporting to the Manager, Purchasing, the intern will be an integral part of the Purchasing Team, which manages all equipment and materials purchases for both job sites and corporate expenditures.
• Mission: To contribute to Cupertino Electric’s procurement process by managing supplier and internal customer relationships and ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of materials for complex electrical construction projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• System Transactions: Engage with internal Purchasing and financial systems to accurately query and enter procurement-related transactions.
• Invoice Validation: Utilize computer applications and established workflows to meticulously validate invoices, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Order Tracking: Monitor and track essential material orders from placement through to successful delivery, coordinating with relevant teams.
• Vendor Engagement: Liaise with vendors to obtain necessary product submittals, documentation, and information.
• Requisition Management: Review requisitions to ensure their accuracy and completeness, supporting efficient procurement processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States, as this position is not eligible for sponsorship.
• Experience: 0 years of professional experience is required, providing an opportunity for entry-level candidates to learn and grow.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with computer applications, strong attention to detail for process accuracy, and effective communication skills for collaborating with project teams, field personnel, and external suppliers.
• Bonus: Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Management, Business, Supply Chain, or a similar field is preferred. Candidates who are curious, confident, and resourceful, enjoy working in a team, and possess a strong interest in the electrical construction industry, are particularly encouraged to apply.
