The TL;DR

• Team: Reports within the Black and Gold Academy sales training program, with a path to Territory Sales and leadership roles.
• Mission: To develop early career professionals into successful sales representatives and future leaders through comprehensive training and hands-on experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Participate: Engage in Herc Rentals’ premier Black and Gold Academy, a structured sales development program.
• Learn: Acquire professional selling skills, account management, territory planning, and a deep understanding of Herc Rentals’ full product and service portfolio.
• Observe: Shadow experienced Territory Sales Representatives in the field and visit customer job sites to understand interactions and project needs.
• Support: Assist with customer outreach, lead generation, and initiatives aimed at supporting revenue growth within assigned territories.
• Understand: Gain foundational knowledge of core branch operations, logistics, customer service, and specialty segments of the equipment rental industry.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent graduates or early career candidates with an Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 0-5 years of sales experience or relevant customer-facing experience.
• Skills: Strong communication, self-motivated and goal-oriented mindset, and a willingness to learn and apply feedback.
• Bonus: Valid driver’s license, interest in a long-term sales career, and flexibility for relocation to support career growth.
