This is a description for Equity Residential’s Property Management Summer Intern Program for 2026.
Program Overview:
The program is a full-time, 10-week paid internship designed for individuals seeking broad exposure to the multi-family real estate industry. Interns will work directly at Equity Residential’s properties to learn about the day-to-day operations of a multi-family REIT.

Overview Of The 2026 Internship Program (Key Activities & Learning):
• Gain first-hand experience of day-to-day property management life within a REIT.
• Access resources to learn industry programs, tools, and processes.
• Work alongside property management teams, assisting with customer service, leasing, and team communication.
• Network and engage with key stakeholders across the organization to establish and execute deliverables.
• Present project results to department personnel or management.
• Represent Equity Residential in a professional manner at all times, maintaining a courteous attitude with residents, coworkers, and the general public.
Location & Pay:
• Location: This is an onsite internship with a five-day per week required on-site participation (Tuesday to Saturday) in Washington D.C.
• Hourly Pay Rate: $20.50/hour.
• Relocation: Relocation assistance is not provided for this internship.
Requirements:
• Must be a rising college junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States (the program does not accept OPT, CPT, or sponsor work visas).
• Ability to effectively and objectively communicate and work with internal and external customers.
• Possesses strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Must be comfortable working autonomously and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines.
• Familiarity and previous experience with Google Applications (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets) is preferred.
