Project Manager Intern | PAR Electrical Contractors, LLC
The Tone:
This is an internship at PAR Electrical Contractors, LLC, with positions available in Denver, CO, Lenexa, KS, and Columbus, OH. As a founding member of Quanta Services and one of the largest union contractors in the U.S., PAR is a premier company known for constructing complex outside electrical infrastructure, including transmission, distribution, and substation projects. This role is crucial for supporting experienced project managers and field leadership, offering essential coordination, documentation, and basic project controls to ensure the successful execution of these demanding projects. It provides students and early-career individuals with invaluable hands-on experience in the utility construction industry, exposing them to real-world project execution, safety practices, and financial tracking, while also serving as a potential pathway into a full-time Project Manager role.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coordinate project planning, scheduling, and overall project activities for electrical transmission, distribution, and substation construction.
• Track project budgets, control costs, and manage basic financial data.
• Manage logistics for the timely delivery and deployment of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Prepare, process, and manage essential project documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders.
• Support comprehensive safety compliance efforts by participating in safety meetings and conducting job site visits to observe field operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest in the utility, electrical, or heavy civil construction industry, with a commitment to learning about project execution.
• Skills: Possess strong organizational and time management capabilities to handle multiple project tasks; exhibit effective communication and teamwork abilities for collaboration with various stakeholders; basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for documentation and data management; willingness to travel to project sites as needed and adapt to working in both office and field environments; maintain a safety-first mindset and a strong eagerness to learn construction processes.
• Bonus: Prior internship or relevant experience within construction or a related field; familiarity with construction drawings or established project management tools such as Procore or MS Project.
