Project Management Project Intern (Real Estate & Facilities – AMS) | ByteDance
The Tone:
This is an internship at ByteDance, supporting the Real Estate & Facilities (REF) team across the America Region. ByteDance, founded in 2012, aims to inspire creativity and enrich life through a suite of products like TikTok, Lemon8, CapCut, and others specific to the China market, making it easier for people to connect, consume, and create content. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in large-scale corporate real estate operations, working closely with Project Managers on the lifecycle of office development projects. Interns will engage in impactful short-term projects, acquire practical skills through on-the-job learning, and develop a deeper understanding of their career interests within a professional environment.

• Mission: Support the lifecycle of office development projects across the America Region.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Design: Support the Project Management team in design analysis and technical review processes to ensure project requirements align with company standards.
• Financial Tracking: Assist in tracking project schedules and monitoring budgets to ensure timely delivery and financial accountability.
• Payment Coordination: Coordinate the end-to-end payment process, including reviewing invoices, tracking change orders, and reconciling costs with internal finance systems.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a liaison between REF and various internal stakeholders (CS, IT, Security, Procurement, Legal, Finance etc.) and external partners (Architects, General Contractors) to drive project alignment and resolve potential bottlenecks.
• Status Reporting: Maintain project dashboards and logs to provide real-time updates on project status, risks, and contingencies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Project management, construction management, architecture, business, real estate, or a related field.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is required, but prior internship or academic project experience in design, construction, or corporate real estate is preferred.
• Skills: Good analytical thinking, problem-solving, great attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good time management, ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Bonus: Familiarity with project management tools or software, and exposure to construction industry terms and processes through coursework or internships.
