Job Title: Project Management Intern

Location: Huntsville, AL

Sector/Business Unit: Defense Systems Sector, Global C2 Solutions Business Unit’s Business Operations and Strategic Growth team

Key Information:

Description of the Role:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Project Management Intern to join our team for a transformative internship opportunity. This position is situated within our Defense Systems Sector in Huntsville, AL, specifically contributing to the Global C2 Solutions Business Unit’s Business Operations and Strategic Growth team.

Basic Qualifications (MANDATORY):

A candidate must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full-time in Fall 2026.
  • Be majoring in Project Management, Engineering Management, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2026.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
  • Experience with data analytics and/or project management.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired):

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher.
  • Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or other data visualization software programs.
  • Experience with project management tools (i.e., Jira, Confluence, MS Planner, MS Project).
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Experience managing project finances and/or Earned Value Management.

Internship Pay Structure:

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and consider three main factors:

  1. The anticipated graduation date of the individual.
  2. The cost of labor of the geographic location.
  3. Whether the internship is classified as technical or administrative.
