Project Finance Analyst | BBVA

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at BBVA, located in New York, NY. BBVA is a major global financial group offering a wide range of services. This Project Finance Analyst position is crucial for supporting the origination, structuring, and execution of complex Project Finance deals across the US and Canada infrastructure and energy sectors. The role, while junior, involves moderately complex responsibilities, offering a strong foundation in underwriting and risk analysis within the banking environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deal Execution: Assist in the origination, structuring, and execution of Project Finance deals within the US and Canada infrastructure and energy sectors.
• Financial Analysis: Run financial models for awarded transactions and contribute to the underwriting, due diligence, and financial analysis of project finance opportunities.
• Client & Market Preparation: Prepare market materials for client pitches, as well as Information Memos and Lender Presentations for lead role opportunities, coordinating bank meetings.
• Diligence & Closing Management: Help manage the technical and legal diligence process and oversee the structuring process through deal closing, including preparing and monitoring the loan closing process.
• Portfolio Reporting: Manage portfolio information and reporting for in-process transactions and closed deals, including interaction with finance on fee recognition.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience in corporate or investment banking related to Project Finance, or experience in construction energy firms related to project finance.
• Skills: Understanding of financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and DCF analysis; proficient in all Microsoft Office tools, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment and under tight deadlines; fluent in English.
• Bonus: Formal credit training; proficiency in Bloomberg; Spanish fluency.
