Project Accountant | BW Design Group

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at BW Design Group, located in one of its 45 US offices. As a Project Accountant, you will be a vital financial gatekeeper, ensuring the accuracy of project revenues, costs, and margins that contribute to the company’s audited financial statements. What You’ll Actually Do
• Gatekeep: Serve as the financial gatekeeper for project revenues, costs, and margins, ensuring their accurate reflection in the business’s audited financial statements.
• Oversee: Oversee project financial health by ensuring correct project setup per GAAP and finance guidelines, and meticulously reviewing and analyzing project forecasts.
• Manage: Manage client billing by preparing and issuing invoices, collaborating with project teams and A/R for timely collections, and tracking labor and expense expenditures.
• Analyze: Identify opportunities for profitability and assess project risks, providing recommendations to the project accounting manager regarding appropriate reserves.
• Support: Support broader financial operations including assisting with month-end close, providing financial input for new and active proposals, participating in annual external audits, and training new team members.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This early career role requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration.
• Experience: Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of financial practices, principles, processes, and systems, preferably gained within a corporate environment.
• Skills: Essential skills include advanced Excel proficiency, solid interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities, and the capacity to meet strict monthly closing and project deadlines.
• Bonus: Relevant financial or accounting experience is preferred, along with a working knowledge of equipment and service procurement.
