Project Accountant, Data Centers | Suffolk Construction

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at Suffolk Construction, a national enterprise that builds, innovates, and invests. This role is vital for tracking and reporting on the financial performance of construction projects, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accuracy. The Project Accountant directly supports project success by managing essential financial operations.

• Mission: Track and report on the financial performance of data center construction projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Requisition Processing: Handle monthly owner and subcontractor requisitions efficiently and accurately.
• Compliance Management: Ensure subcontractors comply with all contract terms and conditions, including insurance and billing procedures.
• Financial Control: Process budget updates and cost transfers to maintain precise project financial records.
• Disbursement & Cash Flow: Select invoices for inclusion in the weekly disbursement cycle and continuously monitor the project’s cash position.
• Project Collaboration: Partner closely with Project Managers and Project Executives on all facets of project accounting and administration issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another relevant field; this is an early career position.
• Experience: 0-3 years of related experience in project accounting or financial management.
• Skills: Financial requisition processing, subcontractor contract compliance, budget administration, cash flow monitoring, and adaptability to different personalities and management styles.
