Nonprofit Marketing Internship | Kindfulness

The Tone:
This is an unpaid, educational internship at Kindfulness, located in Columbus, OH. Kindfulness is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals facing unhousing, trafficking survivors, those in reentry, individuals experiencing sexuality and gender-related stressors, and military veterans. The organization aims to overcome barriers to essential resources through programs like smart vending machines and mobile outreach. This role is crucial in managing marketing efforts to increase awareness, engagement, and resource accessibility for these five constituent communities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Direct Service: Provide direct services to Kindfulness’s constituent communities, aligning marketing efforts with on-the-ground support.
• Vending Machine Marketing: Manage the marketing activities for a smart vending machine system currently in research & development.
• Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to inform strategies and identify needs within the communities Kindfulness serves.
• Social Media Management: Manage all social media channels, incorporating SEO, GEO, and AEO techniques to maximize reach and impact.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal units in Community Outreach, Policy, and Business Operations on all assigned tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment in, or completion of, a post-secondary program (vocational, associate, or bachelor’s degree) with at least 6 months of coursework or experience in marketing.
• Experience: A minimum commitment of 12 hours per week for 6 months, coupled with at least 6 months of marketing coursework or experience.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
• Bonus: Strong preference for individuals with lived experience in the five constituent communities, familiarity with integrative social justice concepts, and an interest in using technology for mobile outreach.
