Marketing (B2B) Management Trainee 2027 | BNSF Railway

The Tone:
This is a full-time Management Trainee position at BNSF Railway, primarily located in Fort Worth, TX, with the flexibility to work one day per week remotely. BNSF Railway operates as one of the largest U.S. railroads, responsible for transporting the nation’s freight across 28 western states and 3 Canadian provinces. In this role, you will be crucial in supporting the movement of essential products and materials that help feed, clothe, supply, and power communities throughout America and the world, contributing to the company’s vital B2B marketing efforts.

• Mission: To gain comprehensive hands-on experience in freight transportation marketing, developing a blended skill set of analytical prowess and strategic creativity to support BNSF’s B2B marketing landscape.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop Expertise: Gain comprehensive knowledge of the Marketing department, the BNSF network, and its internal systems and applications within the Customer Support Department, before transitioning into a specialized Marketing business unit—Industrial, Agricultural, or Consumer Products—based on your interests and our business needs.
• Customer Advocacy: Serve as the primary customer point-of-contact, functioning as an intermediary and educator in support of BNSF offerings, and actively protecting the customer’s interest by identifying and resolving daily tactical service issues that arise.
• Problem Solving & Coordination: Perform in-depth analysis for chronic or systematic problem identification and efficiently respond to customer inquiries while coordinating the resolution of billing, schedule, and equipment issues.
• Strategic Enhancement: Provide valuable feedback in the development and design of service and system enhancements, aiming to improve business processes and optimize strategic marketing information.
• Operational Efficiency: Coordinate workflows and manage time effectively to correspond to the customer’s business needs, ensuring deadlines are met in a dynamic work environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Legally authorized to work in the United States and at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire, not requiring BNSF’s assistance for employment authorization. Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management, or a similar degree program from an accredited university, maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: Have less than three (3) years of professional work experience, excluding internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
• Skills: Possess strong leadership, teamwork capabilities, clear communication skills, adaptability, and resilience to overcome obstacles. Demonstrated analytical prowess combined with creative strategy is essential for navigating a dynamic work environment and meeting deadlines.
• Bonus: Prior internship experience or less than 3 years of work experience in Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a Supply Chain related field is preferred, alongside having held a leadership position in a campus, community, or extracurricular organization.
