Job Summary: Production Runner at Insomniac Events

Insomniac, a global leader in immersive music festivals and events, is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Production Runner to join our Back of House Department. This non-remote position offers a unique opportunity to support the magic behind some of the world’s most spectacular music experiences.

Our events, enhanced by state-of-the-art lighting, pyrotechnics, sound design, large-scale art installations, theatrical performers, and next-generation special effects, inspire unique fan interaction. The “Headliner experience” is our top priority.

Annually, Insomniac produces 10,000 concerts, club nights, and festivals for seven million attendees across the globe, having hosted events in 13 countries across five continents. Our premier annual event, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, is the world’s largest dance music festival, attracting over 525,000 fans over three days. Founded in 1993 by Pasquale Rotella, Insomniac is based in Los Angeles.

The Role: Production Runner

The Production Runner will play a critical supporting role for Insomniac’s Back of House Department, reporting directly to the Back of House Manager. This position is essential for the smooth operation of our events and requires a dedicated individual ready to jump into action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transportation & Logistics:
    • Provide transportation for various personnel (e.g., hotel and airport pickups/drop-offs) using a personal car or company-provided vehicle.
    • Pick up and drop off company-rented 15-passenger and cargo vans.
  • Errand Management:
    • Execute diverse errands, including department meals, laundry, grocery shopping, package delivery, equipment rentals, and coffee runs.
    • Coordinate large take-out orders from local restaurants, including purchasing, retrieving, and distributing to touring personnel.
    • Coordinate and deliver large shopping lists from local grocery stores to the venue.
  • Production Support:
    • Assist production staff with general production-related duties.
    • Provide local area information and recommendations to touring staff.
  • Administrative & Financial Support:
    • Maintain cash and receipts for expense reimbursement and reconciliation, upholding critical confidentiality.
    • Perform light administrative duties such as making copies, posting signs, and cash reconciliation.
  • Special Projects:
    • Undertake various special projects and tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and full insurance coverage. Safe driving habits are paramount.
  • Must have an operational cell phone.
  • Friendly, personable, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Punctual, reliable, responsible, professional, and courteous.
  • Ability to work extended hours (typical show days range from 10 to 18 hours).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and busy environments.
  • May work in drastic temperature climates (both hot and cold).
  • Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required to meet event deadlines.

Compensation:

Hiring Salary Range: $16.00-$20.00 an hour
