Production Operator | Kraton

The Tone:
This is an entry-level position at Kraton, located in Savannah, GA. Kraton is dedicated to making a positive difference for customers and the world through specialty pine chemical manufacturing. This role is crucial for joining a key production team at their long-standing Savannah plant, which has been an established employer for over 50 years. As a Production Operator, you will contribute to outdoor chemical process operations, ensuring safety and efficiency in a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operate Equipment: Safely operate equipment to control chemical changes or reactions in the processing of Kraton products.
• Perform Manual Tasks: Engage in diverse manual tasks including production processes, housekeeping, drumming, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Monitor & Analyze: Monitor processes, perform routine area surveillances, and analyze information to choose the best solution and solve problems effectively.
• Maintain & Prepare: Lubricate, clean, perform routine maintenance on equipment, and prepare equipment for maintenance and inspect completed work.
• Record Data & Sample: Adjust equipment control settings, accurately record data, and conduct process sampling and field analysis as required.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or GED. This is an entry-level production employee role.
• Experience: No specific prior experience required for entry-level.
• Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively work as part of a shift team, computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, troubleshooting, critical thinking, and disciplined problem solving.
• Bonus: Chemical Operator certificate or degree, 1-3 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, and demonstrated mechanical ability.
