Product Management Development Program Internship
This internship is designed to give you a fast-paced, in-depth experience within the Product Management organization of Travelers’ Personal Insurance or Select Small Commercial business. This is the fastest growing area of Travelers, offering interns the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of challenging projects and training.
# What You Will Do
• Group Capstone Project: A summer-long project culminating in a presentation to senior management and other business leaders.
• Data Analysis: You will quantify the impact of pricing and underwriting decisions, analyze marketplace data, and participate in pricing negotiations with different sales channels.
• Industry Research: You will research and analyze industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes.
• Product Development: You will develop and implement underwriting guidelines and product coverage enhancements.
• Collaboration: You will collaborate with various teams, including Finance, Actuarial, Field Sales, Research and Development, Risk Management, Claim, and other areas of the Product Management Organization.
• Product Introductions: You will participate in the introductions of new products and enhancements to multiple territories.
• Other duties as assigned.
# Ideal Candidate Qualifications
• GPA: A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
• Extracurricular Involvement: Experience in extracurricular activities is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Office, and Access is a plus.
• Availability: Work availability from early June through August (10-12 weeks).
• Legal Status: Legally eligible to work in the United States on a permanent full-time basis.
• Major: Suggested majors include Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Risk Management and Insurance, Engineering, and other business-related majors.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills are preferred.
• Analytical Skills: Ideal candidates will have the ability to deal with complex concepts comfortably and exhibit the ability to analyze information and draw conclusions.
