Process Engineering Intern | Par Health

The Tone:
This is an internship at Par Health, located at an outdoor chemical production facility. Par Health is dedicated to delivering great healthcare by focusing on essential practices and continuous improvement. This role contributes to enhancing plant reliability and product quality within the p-aminophenol (PAP) plant, directly supporting the company’s commitment to improving lives and maintaining high standards.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, an outdoor chemical production facility

• Team: Reports to a Senior Process Engineer in the PAP Operation, interacting with Process Engineers, Supervisors, Operators, Maintenance (mechanics, I&E technicians, Reliability Engineers), Project Engineering, Controls, and Technical Operations Teams.
• Mission: To identify and implement significant improvement opportunities for plant reliability or product quality within the p-aminophenol (PAP) plant.
• Tech Stack: MS Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Understand: Grasp the specific purpose and expected outcomes for assigned projects.
• Document: Maintain thorough and accurate records of all data collected for the project.
• Comply: Learn and consistently apply good cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) methods and standards.
• Report: Communicate project findings and progress directly to the Senior Process Engineer.
• Present: Prepare and deliver a comprehensive final report to the appropriate PAP Operations / Tech Ops team members at the conclusion of the internship.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree program related to Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, with strong knowledge of chemistry, physics, and general engineering principles.
• Experience: Completed coursework through at least the sophomore level.
• Skills: Strong communication and social skills, with a motivated self-starter approach and the ability to operate independently.
• Bonus: Preferred completion of at least sophomore level coursework.
