Process Engineer, Entry | Domtar

The Tone:
This is a full-time, permanent role at Domtar, located in Bennettsville, South Carolina. Domtar is a leading producer of pulp, paper, packaging, tissue, and wood products, committed to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. As an Entry Level Process Engineer, you will immediately contribute to the organization by impacting innovation in the Pulp and Paper industry. This role is crucial for bringing world-class innovation to market and designing the next generation of products.

• Team: Part of the Pulp and Utilities Department team (Fiberline, Recovery & Utilities areas)
• Mission: Support operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement within the Pulp and Utilities Department to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Excel, Word, PI, PARCView (desirable)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead discussions as an active member and advocate for the Pulp and Utilities management team.
• Provide essential support for all operational and maintenance activities within the Pulp and Utilities area.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure strict adherence to environmental compliance standards.
• Facilitate continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives within the department.
• Collaborate with shift teams and technicians to effectively troubleshoot daily operational issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent graduate holding a Bachelor of Science in Pulp and Paper (Paper Science) or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience: Capable of learning or familiar with the kraft recovery cycle; high degree of computer literacy including MS Office applications.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; proficient planning, organization, and time-management; well-developed problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities; demonstrated leadership.
• Bonus: Experience with SAP, Excel, Word, PI, and PARCView.
