Pharmacy Pre-Grad Intern | Walmart

The Tone:
This is an in-person internship at Walmart, located in Salem, OR. Walmart operates a large retail organization, deeply integrated into communities across the country. This role offers an opportunity to be directly involved in patient care, contributing to community health and wellness efforts. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting, learning to support patient wellbeing and the efficient delivery of pharmacy services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Confidentiality: Ensure all information, documentation, and records are kept confidential according to company policies and local, State, and Federal guidelines.
• Prescription Processing: Assist with processing prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) orders and purchases for patients.
• Patient Care: Deliver direct patient care by recognizing patient needs, assessing them, and helping navigate clinical therapies.
• Inventory Management: Receive and stock merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy school.
• Experience: Proficiency in pharmaceutical care and implementing best practices within a pharmacy setting.
• Skills: Excellent ability to foster relationships with customers and the pharmacy team, commitment to following HIPAA and PHI guidelines, and capability to cater to individual patient needs.
• Bonus: Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification.
