American Industrial Transport, Inc. (AITX) is a privately-owned company based in St. Charles, Missouri. AITX specializes in providing railcar leasing and repair services, supporting companies that transport essential assets vital to the North American economy.

Job Summary & Core Responsibilities

The Portfolio Management Intern will play a crucial role in supporting AITX’s Portfolio Management team. This position focuses on project-based assignments across key areas such as business strategy, data analytics, automation, and enhancing performance visibility. The intern will gain valuable experience by contributing to meaningful work designed to:

• Improve the accuracy of portfolio data.
• Enhance Key Performance Indicator (KPI) visibility.
• Eliminate reliance on manual reporting processes.

Projects undertaken during this internship are designed to deliver lasting benefits to the business beyond the internship period.

Potential Projects Include

• Support for cross-functional projects involving business strategy and analytics.
• Assisting with the automation of manual portfolio analytics and reporting processes.
• Development and refinement of KPI tracking tools, potentially including PowerBI dashboards.
• Support for data refinement and inventory management improvements.
• Assisting with AI-driven initiatives related to data ingestion and interpretation.
• Conducting commodity market research and supporting the creation of automated market updates or dashboards for broader business use.
• Providing day-to-day support to the Portfolio Management team as needed.

Required Experience / Skills / Qualifications / Education

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Science, Finance, Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine interest in data-driven decision making and business strategy.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail.
• Experience with PowerBI or other data visualization tools preferred.
